Caitlin Angold found Des Peres Rotary in an interesting way – her boss at Stryker was speaking at a club meeting, and she attended with him. She was impressed with the friendliness of the members and came back to see if first impressions would repeat. Evidently they did because Caitlin has been a club member since mid-2011. Already she’s active with the club, co-chairing the membership committee.
Caitlin is a native of Kansas City. A graduate of the University of Missouri’s School of Business in 2010, she located to St. Louis to pursue a career in marketing with Stryker Orthopedics. She immediately joined several service organizations, including the St. Louis Junior League, Urban Future, the Arthritis Foundation and most recently Des Peres Rotary in 2011.
Caitlin has completed her fifth year as a Big Sister mentor to Kiona. Now 16, Kiona aspires to be a professional basketball player. With Caitlin’s guidance, Kiona is also working on a back-up plan to attend medical school and to become a radiologist.
When she isn’t busy at work or serving the community, Caitlin enjoys running. She’s combined her passion for running and volunteerism by serving as the logistics chair of the Arthritis Foundation’s 5K Jungle Bell Run in St. Louis. As a Kansas City native, her loyalties tend toward the Royals and the Chiefs, but she has learned to tolerate St. Louisans’ fevered support of the Cardinals and the Rams. She shares many locals’ fanaticism for anything Mizzou.
