Membership Information
Potential members are sponsored by existing members. Interested candidates attend a few meetings to introduce themselves to the active members and to observe the club proceedings. An existing member proposes the interested candidate for membership. The proposal is given to the club membership for consideration.
Membership provides many benefits, including:
- Fellowship and networking with community leaders and professionals.
- A network of Rotary clubs throughout the metro area, the US, and the world. Attending other Rotary meetings is a great way to increase professional contacts, as well as to make new friends.
- Becoming part of a worldwide network of Rotarians promoting international scholarships, cultural exchanges and humanitarian projects both large and small.
- And last, but not least, FUN! Members enjoy camaraderie at meetings and at club social events.
Membership involves monetary support of and participation in club service and fundraising projects.
Members attend meetings regularly, either at the Des Peres club or at other Rotary clubs. Attending meetings at other clubs is a great way to extend their Rotary fellowship.
Members uphold Rotary International's "Four Way Test" in all their personal and business dealings. The "Four Way Test" is:
- Is it the truth?
-
Is it fair to all concerned?
-
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
-
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
The initiation fee is $50. Annual dues are $140 and are billed quarterly. Breakfast is $10/week and is billed quarterly in advance.
